Department of Computer Science

 

1. Faculty

The Department has a faculty of strong capability and reasonable structure with 50 teachers, of which 4 professors, 10 assistant professors, 16 lecturers; 1 teacher with doctoral degrees and 10 teachers with master’s degrees.

 

2. Number of students

There are now more than 1200 students on campus.

 

3. Laboratory and facilities

It has 26 laboratories: multimedia, microcomputer, computer network, computer composition and structure, single-chip computer theory, network engineering, software engineering, basic knowledge of computer, computer assembly and maintenance, and has about 1285 pieces of equipment in all, and thus provide a good platform for teaching and scientific research.

 

4. Achievements in scientific research

In recent years, more than 260 academic papers and 21 books have been published by teachers of the department, and 48 research projects have been completed, more than 50 prizes on scientific research and 7 prizes for excellent teaching were awarded.

 

5. Activities with unique characteristics

It attaches great importance to foreign exchange and cooperation, and has conducted a joint cooperation training program with Southwest University of Science and Technology, and also undertaken the work for national computer grade test, IT certification by the Ministry of Information Industry, providing an excellent platform for study and development of students.

 

6. Specialties and core modules:

The Department offers 3 specialties: Computer Science and Technology, Technology of Computer Application, and Computer Education.

 

(1)   Computer Science and Technology (undergraduate program)

Discrete Mathematics, Computer Organization and System Structure, Digital Circuit and Logic, Microcomputer System and Interface, Algorithm and Data Structure, Computer Network, Operating System, Fundamentals of Compiler, Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Fundamentals of Data Base, High-Level Language Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Dynamic Website Construction, Computer Assembly and Maintenance, Multimedia Technology and other specialized and elective courses for the needs of the society.

 

(2) Computer Application Technology (higher professional program)

Basic Knowledge of Computer, High-Level Language Programming, Digilogue Circuit, Assembly Language Programming, Data Structure, Operating System, Computer Composition Theory, Computer Network, Introduction to Data Base System, Multimedia Technology and Application, Object-Oriented Programming (Visual Forpro and Visual Basic, etc.), Computer Assembly and Maintenance, Software Engineering
