Department of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences
1. Faculty
The Department now has 28 teachers, of which 10 professors, assistant professors and senior engineers, 10 lecturers and engineers; 4 teachers with doctoral degrees and 9 teachers with master’s degrees.
2. Number of students
There are now about 300 students on campus.
3. Laboratory and facilities
It has complete teaching conditions for experiment and practice. Besides laboratories inside the school, it also has some bases for teaching practice jointly built with more than 10 enterprises including Mt. Jigong National Natural Scenic Zone, Boshan Lake Scenic Zone, Tongshan Lake Scenic Zone, Henan Fenghua Fine Breed Pig Improving Co., Ltd. Zhumadian Gardening Dept., Shangcai County Senyuan Garden Engineering Co., Ltd, and thus create excellent teaching conditions for training students’ practical skills.
4. Achievements in scientific research
In recent years, more than 150 articles and 13 books of teachers in the Department have been published, and 18 research projects of city-level above have been completed, and 15 prizes for academic research of city and department-level above have been obtained by teachers in the Department.
5. Activities with unique characteristics
The Department aims to train students into practical and technical personnel in the fields of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, and attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ practical skills. It has laboratory for teaching and academic research, and base for fieldwork.

It offers 3 specialties: Plant Protection, Gardening Technology, Animal Husbandry and Veterinarian.

(2) Gardening Technology
Ecology, Ornamental Plant, Garden Plant Genetic Breeding, Gardening Project Construction and Management, Estimate and Budget of Gardening Project, Theory of Plant Landscape Design
(3) Animal Husbandry and Veterinarian
Animal Anatomy, Animal Physiology, Animal Husbandry Science, Veterinary Microbiology, Introduction to Veterinarian, Sanitary Inspection of Animal Food, etc.
