Department of Mathematical Science

 

1. Faculty

There are 31 teachers, of which 12 professors and assistant professors, and 10 with master’s degrees.

 

2. Number of students

There are now 700 students on campus.

 

3. Achievements in scientific research

In recent years, teachers of the Department have obtained remarkable achievements in scientific research, 172 academic papers have been published on magazines and periodicals at home and abroad, of which 26 articles were published as the first article on SCI and EI or published on key periodicals.

 

4. Activities with unique characteristics

After 28 years of construction and development, the Department of Mathematical Science has formed a teaching mode which features “strict, standardized, excellent, people-oriented and quality first”.

 

5. Specialties and core modules

The Department offers 3 specialties: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (undergraduate program), Information and Computational Science (undergraduate program), and Mathematics Education (higher professional program).

 

(1) Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (undergraduate program)

Core modules: Mathematical Analysis, Analytical Geometry, Higher Algebra, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Ordinary Differential Equation, Modern Algebra, Theory of Functions of Complex Variable, Physics, Mathematical Modeling /Mathematical Experiments, Basic Knowledge of Computer, Numerical Technique, History of Mathematics, Theory of Mathematical Teaching, Preliminary Mathematical Research, etc.

 

(2) Information and Computational Science (undergraduate program)

Core modules: Basic Mathematics (Analysis, Algebra and Geometry), Probability & Statistics, Mathematical Modeling, Physics, Basic Knowledge of Computer (Introduction to Calculation, Algorithm & Data Structure and Software System), Basic Knowledge of Information Science, Basic Knowledge of Theoretical Computer Science, Method of Numerical Calculation, Computer Graphics, Operational Research and Optimization, Basic Knowledge of Human Social Sciences, etc.

 

(3) Mathematics Education (higher professional program)

Core modules: Mathematical Analysis, Analytical Geometry, Higher Algebra, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Ordinary Differential Equation, Theory of Functions of Complex Variable, Mathematical Modeling, Theory of Mathematical Teaching, Preliminary Mathematical Research, etc.
